Day 1: Arrive, settle in, and enjoy the beach

After you make your way to your rental home, take some time to unwind and explore where you’ll be staying. Travel can often take a lot out of you, so it’s important to find some time to relax at your temporary home. Many of our properties sit directly on the beachfront, so heading to the beach is a great way to enjoy some outdoor fun close by without doing too much. This also has the added benefit of giving the kids something to do if you are traveling with a big group or family.
Day 2: Visit Ocean Isle Beach Pier, Museums, and Parks

After a full night of rest, start the day with breakfast at your rental before heading to the Ocean Isle Beach Pier. First built in 1957, this local landmark stretches nearly 1,000 feet into the Atlantic Ocean and offers beautiful coastal views, fishing, mini golf, an arcade, ice cream, and casual dining. From there, visit the Museum of Coastal Carolina to learn more about the area’s wildlife, coastal habitats, and conservation efforts.
Day 3: Spend the Day on the Water

One of the best aspects of a trip to Ocean Isle Beach is access to the water. Book a rental or charter for one of the many amazing water-based experiences in the area. Ocean Isle Beach offers many incredible places to enjoy kayaking, fishing, or jet skiing from the Intracoastal Waterway to the Shallotte River.
Day 4: Take on Outdoor Adventures at The Swamp Park

Keep things outdoors for day four and explore more nature. For a fun outdoor adventure park, head over to The Swamp Park. Plan a full day of outdoor adventures at this park, which offers zipline trails, guided ATV rides, and swamp boat ECO-tours through the Shallotte River Swamp. Just remember: if you plan to ride an ATV, you must be at least 16 years old and have a valid driver’s license.
Day 5: Take a Short Daytrip to Nearby Towns

Don’t feel the need to keep everything in Ocean Isle Beach during your trip! The surrounding towns and communities of Brunswick Island offer many unique experiences that are great for rounding out the trip! Sunset Beach is a short drive over and is known for its slower pace and quiet shoreline. From there, you can head to the secluded dunes of Bird Island and visit the iconic Kindred Spirit Mailbox. End the day in Calabash, a nearby town known for seafood and waterfront dining. It’s a great place to enjoy a coastal meal before returning to Ocean Isle Beach.
Day 6: Enjoy Golf, Shopping, and Seafood

Start out day 6 with a few rounds of golf at some of the region’s best courses. The Links at Brick Landing would be the closest course, sitting right by the Intracoastal Waterway. This course offers 18 holes in a beautiful setting on the banks. If golf isn’t your speed, spend the day shopping at some of the area’s local shops. For a true summer experience, hit up the Ocean Isle Beach Summer Market. Open every Tuesday from June to August, 9 AM to 1 PM, this wonderful market features vendors selling fresh produce and baked goods for all to enjoy. If you really want to enjoy some coastal goodness or want to enjoy a nice seafood dinner back at the rental, slide over to Doug’s Seafood Market for some of the freshest locally sourced seafood around.
Day 7: End the Trip with Sunrise Views and Dinner on the Waterfront

Take it easy on your final day of the week-long trip and enjoy the area at your own pace. This can include anything from a short walk around your property to a light visit to the beach. Once you’re done, celebrate the trip with some of the best dining options in the area. Some of our favorite picks for great food with stunning views include Le Volte, which offers a more premium option featuring prime steaks, fresh seafood, and a tiki bar, or Sharky’s Waterfront, for a more casual vibe. There are plenty of fun dining options to enjoy in the OIB, so make your last night easy and relaxing with delicious food right by the water.
