Ocean Isle Beach Ghost Walk
Ocean Isle Beach has a rich and unique history that spans 500 years. Civil War battles, haunted trains, lost ships, ghost planes, lights that baffle scientists, whiskey smugglers, haunted plantations, amazing apparitions, legends of lost treasure, and haunted houses are all part of the intrigue of OIB. It’s also one of the most haunted places on the East Coast. The Grissettown Longwood Haunted Trail
The Grissettown Longwood Fire & Rescue Haunted Trail is open every Friday and Saturday night in October and on Halloween each year. The trail is a self-guided tour filled with interactive props and actors (firefighters and community volunteers). The trail takes about 30 minutes to complete. This is not a kiddy attraction, although it is family friendly. This event has won local awards for the scariest haunted attraction around. Proceeds help fund the fire department. Details here.
Fright Light Halloween Laser Music Show
Ingram Planetarium invites you to a ghoulish evening under the dome this October 10, 16 & 30 featuring hand-rendered laser artwork, 360 degrees of live lighting effects, and Halloween music favorites such as “Thriller” by Michael Jackson and “Men in Black” by Will Smith. Fright Light is family-friendly, though all laser music shows feature concert-level sound, and quick moving lights; this may not be appropriate for extremely small children or those sensitive to loud noises and bright, flickering lights. Ocean Isle Beach Trunk or Treat
Save the date for The Town of Ocean Isle Beach’s Trunk or Treat! Join in the festive fun on Friday, October 29, 2021 from 5pm to 6:30pm at Town Center Park for this public event. Bring your buckets to fill with sweets at the annual Trunk or Treat. OIB town staff and residents are onsite to pass out treats on this spooktacular night of family-friendly Halloween fun. Trunk or Treat at the Museum of Coastal Carolina
Come to the Museum of Coastal Carolina for another Trunk or Treat event on October 30, 2021 from 10am-2pm. Local businesses sponsor trunks filled with candy and other goodies in each of the museum’s galleries. Children can trick-or-treat in the museum’s educational and safe environment. Kids are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes to the museum and bring their own trick-or-treat bags. Matthew Bookout is also onsite with some of his snakes for the kids to see up close.
