October means Halloween and there is nothing better than combining Halloween with a beach vacation, specifically an Ocean Isle Beach vacation. Whether you’re looking to visit for the day or looking to take advantage of our awesome fall temperatures and quiet days on the beach, the fall is the ideal time to visit us. This week we have a few spooky things to do on Ocean Isle Beach this Halloween.
Two Fun and Spooky Adventures
Looking for a little fright with the family this Halloween? Look no further than these two great adventures. One is on land and one is on water so there is something for everyone. A favorite is the Grissetown Haunted Trail which is really incredible, especially beacause it is all volunteer organized. Be sure to get there early as people come from all over the region for this adventure. For those looking for a spooky adventure on the water, you’ll want to head over to Shallotte to take a haunted swamp tour. People rave about this event and we’re sure any fan of Halloween will love this unique tour of the Shallotte river and swamp.
Grissettown Haunted Trail
If you like to be scared to death, but in a fun way, while supporting a great charity, then we have the perfect event for you. The annual Grissettown Haunted Trail takes place this October each Friday and Saturday night. On Wednesday, October, 31, there is a special Halloween event. All proceeds from the event support the Grissettown Longwood Fire Department. The trail takes about 30 minutes to complete and while it is family friendly, this is not a great event for the little ones.

Three Great Halloween Projects For The Beach
Looking for some fun crafts and activities to do with the kids? Or maybe you are just looking to bring a little beach Halloween style to the house. Well, we have just the thing for you with these three great ideas that combine the beach and Halloween.
Pumpkin Party Cooler
Hosting a Halloween beach bash has never been easier with this fun Halloween hack. This unique cooler allows you to bring a pumpkin-inspired theme to your table. Not only can you carve out small pumpkins to serve up things like chips and dip, but you can also use a large-sized pumpkin to serve as your drink cooler.
Making a pumpkin cooler is easy and keeps your drinks on display and ready for use while keeping them cold and festively adorned. It’s simple. Carve out a pumpkin, line it with plastic wrap, fill it with ice. Your guests will love it!
If the thought of carving a Jack-O-Lantern into your pumpkins this year isn’t your cup of tea, you may want to consider this beach-inspired alternative. How about carving a Jack-O-Lantern into a Pineapple? Get creative and give your home a beach theme for your Halloween party or just use them as decorations and centerpieces. Get creative and be fun or spooky. Either way you’ll be bringing the beach spirit into your Halloween.
Pumpkins With Coastal Theme
Give your pumpkins a little coastal flair this Halloween by trading in that old boring Jack-O-Lantern carving for some beach-inspired carving. Choose your favorite coastal elements to start your planning. Lighthouses, palm trees, seashells, crabs, sand dollars and starfish are just a few of the many ways to give your pumpkin that fun beachy look.If you want to make your pumpkin even more beachy add a sandy exterior.
