Ocean Isle Beach is one of 3 barrier islands known as the South Brunswick Islands. On either side of Ocean Isle are Holden Beach and Sunset Beach. Ocean Isle Beach is the second largest island of the three stretching 6 miles in an unusual east to west direction. This means that you can see beautiful sunrises as well as spectacular sunsets. Start your day by soaking in the sunrise in one of our Ocean Isle Beach vacation rentals. The Ocean Isle Beach experience is one you won’t soon forget. There is really “something for everyone”.

Terrific beaches and wonderful weather are what the South Brunswick Islands are known for. On average, the waters here are 10 degrees warmer than the Outer Banks areas. Our surf is gentle and generally without strong currents, perfect for a lazy day in the sun. If you’re into sailing or scuba diving or just swimming in the warm Atlantic, this area will bring you back time after time. Our beautiful sunsets will cap off your day and provide a doorway to the night’s activities.

If you’re interested in fishing, the Ocean Isle Beach community offers a number of different charter boats to take you deep-sea and back-shore fishing. If you’re looking for more easy-going time, be sure to take advantage of Ocean Isle Beach Fishing Pier. It was completed in 1957 and is one of the oldest fishing piers along the coast of North Carolina. The pier’s grill serves as a local favorite spot for breakfast with tasty eggs, grits, omelets, biscuits, fluffy pancakes, and more, available all day! A lunch menu items of cheeseburgers, chicken fingers, crispy fries are also available.

A recent addition to our pier’s fun-to-eat options includes a new Soft Serve Ice Cream parlor serving up delicious soft-serve cones, cups, cookie & candy blends, and sundaes! Also at the pier is Sunset Slush, a store selling a large variety of flavored Italian ice. You’ll also find Sunset Slush carts serving beachgoers along the beach strand! The fishing pier has a store where you can buy packaged ice cream, candy, chips, ice, drinks, water, some beach supplies, pier t-shirts and hats, fishing bait, tackle, and rods. Ocean Isle Beach Fishing Pier is a great spot for fishing, you can bring your own or rent fishing equipment. Fishing passes can be purchased for daily, weekly, or for season fishing. Fishermen can fish off the pier using the pier’s fishing license. The pier does not sell fishing licenses for off property fishing. There is a $1 charge for adults walking the pier, admission for children under 6 are 50¢. The pier is privately owned and these funds go to help maintain the pier’s structure, lighting, and maintaining pier restrooms. Beachgoers only pay $5 to park all day and can come and go all day. Fishermen and restaurant patrons are not required to pay to park. See the parking attendant or fishing desk staff for your vehicle pass to display on your rearview mirror.

For the golfer you can start with a great round of golf at one of the many award winning area golf courses; each with its own diverse layout and scenery.

Ocean Isle Beach area has some of the finest food to be found on the coast. Nearby is Calabash, know as the “Seafood Capital of the World”. If seafood isn’t your thing, try one of the great steak houses or oriental food establishments here too. There is also plenty of shopping at area specialty stores and malls.

The fall season boasts The Annual North Carolina Oyster Festival held each year on the third weekend in October.

A short drive away are both Wilmington, NC and Myrtle Beach, SC. Each city has its own look and ‘feel’ and there certainly is a wide range of fun to be found. Head to exciting Myrtle Beach and take in a show or travel up to historic Wilmington and have a cocktail overlooking the Cape Fear River.
