Today is the first day of fall and on Ocean Isle Beach this can only mean one thing, loads of great family-friendly events. Everyone thinks of the beach as a summer destination, but did you know the average high temperature on Ocean Isle Beach in October is 76 degrees. Sounds like the perfect temperature to get out and explore one of the best destinations on the North Carolina Coast. From a long weekend to an extended week long vacation, we have loads of vacation homes to choose from. Here are a few of the best events going on this fall that you won’t want to miss.
Calabash Oktoberfest
Break out the lederhosen, turn up the polka music, and get ready to party Bavarian style during the annual Calabash Oktoberfest. Taking place in nearby Calabash, North Carolina, which is only a 20-minute drive west of Ocean Isle Beach. This event is sure to bring out the laughs and good times. Taking place on October 26 between 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. the event features all things Bavarian, with a dash of beach style added for good measure. Events include wiener dog races, arm wrestling contests, and Bierstein Holding Contest. Admission is free for everyone. Vendors will be available selling food, arts, and crafts. Live music will be provided by the Harbour Towne Fest Band.
Run Ocean Isle Beach
If you love the beach and love running, then the Run Ocean Isle Beach is your type of event. October is about the most beautiful time of the year temperature wise to run. This event is a great way to stay in shape and keep those calories off as we head into the holiday season. The event takes place on October 26, 2019. You can choose a 1 mile, 5k, or half marathon. So come run with us this October and enjoy a day on beautiful Ocean Isle Beach.

Fall Brawl King Classic
October 25 – 27, 2019 The captains meeting with complimentary food will be held at the Ocean Isle Fishing Center on Friday, at 7:15 p.m. followed by entertainment with the Spot Derby. Registration is available online, by mail, or on-site at the Ocean Isle Fishing Center; the deadline is Friday, October 25th at 11:59 p.m. For this tournament you will fish one out of two days with fishing to begin on Saturday, October 26th and Sunday, the 27th at 7 a.m and weigh-in closes at 5 p.m. On Sunday at 6:30 p.m there will be a Complimentary Dinner by Wing & Fish Company. The awards ceremony will be on Sunday, October 27th at 7:15 p.m. The Long Bay Artificial Reef Association and the Teaching Youth to Fish Foundation are both supported by this event.

NC Festival By The Sea
A few miles down the road in Holden Beach you’ll find the 2019NC Festival By The Sea. Taking place this year on October 67-27 the festival celebrates 39 years. One of the best parts of this event is that it is free to everyone and there is free parking. If you are looking for a festival that features over 100 arts and crafts vendors, and loads of activities for the kids, then this is the place to be.

Ocean Isle Beach Super Saturday
November 30, 2019, Ocean Isle Beach kicks off the Christmas season in style with several fun family-friendly events. Here on Ocean Isle Beach we call it “Super Saturday.” It starts with the Christmas Parade on Saturday followed by the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, and then the Christmas Boat Flotilla. The day ends with a night of great food, live music, and fun at Sharky’s.

1:15 p.m. Line-up for the parade at Museum parking lot
2:00 p.m. Parade Starts
4:30 p.m. Christmas caroling and Tree lighting at Causeway across the street from the Fire Department.
4:45 p.m. Santa arrives at the Ocean Isle Beach Fire Department followed by hot cocoa, coffee, and other goodies
5:30 p.m. Watch the Christmas Flotilla from Sharky’s Waterfront Restaurant. Followed by Flotilla Party!
