The 40th NC Oyster Festival Is October 16th & 17th, 2021!
A long-standing tradition, the annual NC Oyster Festivalbrings together toe-tapping music, culinary delights, unique shopping and the regionally celebrated oyster to thousands of tourists and locals each year in Shallotte, NC. With two full days to enjoy the festival you will be able to walk the grounds and peruse the variety of vendors showcasing their artwork and crafts, bring your beach chair and find a spot by the stage to listen to the featured entertainers, and enjoy the competition as a spectator or go for the gold in one of the Oyster contests. And what’s a festival without the food? The festival offers a variety of cuisines (including oysters) showcased in an assortment of mouth-watering ways.
NC Festival By The Sea
A few miles down the road in Holden Beach you’ll find the 2021 NC Festival By The Sea. Taking place this year on October 30-31 the festival celebrates 39 years. One of the best parts of this event is that it is free to everyone and there is free parking. If you are looking for a festival that features over 100 arts and crafts vendors and loads of activities for the kids, then this is the place to be.

Grissettown Haunted Trail

If you like to be scared to death, but in a fun way, while supporting a great charity, then we have the perfect event for you. The annual Grissettown Haunted Trail takes place this October each Friday and Saturday night. On October, 31 there is a special Halloween event. All proceeds from the event, support the Grissettown Longwood Fire Department. The trail takes about 30 minutes to complete, and while it is family friendly, this is not a great event for the little ones.
The 8th Annual Calabash Oktoberfest is scheduled for October 23, 2021
